The Israel Centre for the treatment of Psychotrauma (ICTP)
ICTP has been active since 1989 to contend with the growing phenomenon of psychotrauma in Israel, where an estimated 9% of Israelis suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), three times the level of that in the US and other western countries. ICTP, together with UJA Federation of New York, initiator of the Israel Trauma Coalition, is today a world-recognized innovator in researching and treating the widespread effects of trauma.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES:

Centre for Emotionally Focused Therapy
EFT is a short term, structured approach to couples therapy formulated in the early 80's by Sue Johnson and Les Greenberg.
 
Authentic Happiness
Dr Martin Seligman is the founder of Positive Psychology, a new branch of psychology which focuses on the empirical study of such things as positive emotions, strengths-based character, and healthy institutions. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy 
This is a unique empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility means contacting the present moment fully as a conscious human being, and based on what the situation affords, changing or persisting in behavior in the service of chosen values.

Narrative Approaches
Narrative approaches to counselling and community work centre people as the experts in their own lives and views problems as separate from people. Narrative approaches assume that people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives. The word ‘narrative’ refers to the emphasis that is placed upon the stories of people’s lives and the differences that can be made through particular tellings and retellings of these stories.
The Dulwich Centre
This is an independent centre in Adelaide, Australia involved in: narrative therapy, community work, training, and publishing, supporting practitioners in different parts of the world, and co-hosting international conferences. This site acts as gateway to information about narrative therapy, community work and psychosocial support. It includes articles to read, books and journals to purchase, training events and conferences to attend.

On this website Scott Miller and Barry Duncan present the latest research on "what works" in therapy. Their findings are translated into principles for clinical practice.
